Danish designed. Queensland compliant.
Interconnected smoke alarms that are safe, stylish and Queensland compliant.
Time remaining for rental properties to become compliant
All smoke alarms must be either powered by mains power or non-removal 10 year battery. When replacing any existing installed alarms in the dwelling, these must be ‘like for like’ i.e. a hardwired/mains powered alarm must be replaced with a hardwired/mains powered alarm.
All smoke alarms must be interconnected with each other, this can either be wired or wireless. The CAVIUS Wireless Family alarms all connect with each other wirelessly, without the need to run cable between each alarm.
All smoke alarms must be photoelectric (cannot contain an ionisation sensor) and comply with Australian standards AS3786:2014.
Installed in all bedrooms, hallways, and between areas containing bedrooms. If there are no bedrooms on a storey, at least one smoke alarm must be installed in the most likely path of travel to exit the dwelling.
The CAVIUS Wireless Family photoelectric alarms interconnect with each other, powered by a 10-year battery or mains powered – making them fully compliant with Queensland’s new legislation. Our Wireless Family isn’t just a better-looking alarm system, it’s a safer one.
It’s key to note that if replacing an existing smoke alarm, it must be ‘like for like’ i.e. if you currently have a hardwired/mains powered alarm, this must be replaced with a hardwired/mains powered alarm.
Where practicable smoke alarms must be placed on the ceiling. Smoke alarms must not be placed:
